You don't even have to register your own domain name, the only problem with free accounts is sometimes they limit your ability to customize and add different types of advertising.

You have your blog setup, how do I start making money you ask. In order for your blog to make money there are a few simple things you need to do.

1) Make regular (3-5) posts on your blog weekly. Make sure all posts are relevant to your niche and products your selling.
2) Place your ads/AdSense in your blog sidebar.
3) Build a quality list of reciprocal links (this will start getting you organic traffic).
4) Submit your site to all the free web and blog directories possible. This will give you valuable backlinks to your blog.

With a little time and effort you can make money blogging. You can blog about anything your passionate about. The key is to be patient and consistent.
